Dietz #1 Little Wizard (Large Fount) Cold Blast Lantern

I got one almost a year ago to upgrade from an older Dietz Monarch (which still works well, just a little beat up), to help light up outside and some unpowered out buildings. I’m pretty impressed that they still pretty sturdy, and the larger base seems to be steadier on uneven ground. It produces plenty of light, and even after using two to four hours a night for few nights a week I only have to refill it every three to four weeks. Still quality products, and even came packaged better than I expected (the box arrived a little, but lantern arrived undamaged!). Good purchase, very happy! Thanks!

We really take care in packaging our products to make sure they are safe. The Little Wizard #1 is probably the most sturdy lantern produced today as it has a very low center of gravity.

I just received my red-with-brass trim Dietz No.1 and I am impressed. The detail on my Dietz No. 1 is sharp! I could have gone to amazon to buy the Dietz No. 1 but I really wanted to get that ‘extra touch’ with respect to keeping my Dietz lanterns going parts-wise from a lantern-enthusiast firm like the WT Kirkman Lanterns Co. I am very happy and will buy from here again.

I have loved the looks of hurricane lanterns all my life, but never owned anything more than a cheap display quality model. When I finally decided it was time to buy a real lantern, I soon found myself overwhelmed by the sheer number of styles and sizes of lanterns on the market, and quickly found myself wanting them all. I decided that my first would be the No.1 with large fount in red/brass and I am in love with it. I’m sad that there is no option to upload pictures because I took some nice shots of it both lit and unlit. It is very sturdy, impossible to turn over without intentionally doing so, and when not in use it doubles as a work of art. I was so impressed that i have already ordered the 2nd model on my list , The no. 2500 Jupiter.
