NOTE: The Dietz #272 burner was originally used on Dietz #2 size lanterns, namely the #2 Blizzard and #2 Wizard, from 1913 until 1917 when World War 1 material shortages prompted a reversion back to the older style #262 “Wing-Lock Cone” burner. It was re-introduced in 1937 when Dietz started production of the Streamlined versions of the #2 Blizzard and #2 D-Lite, which were discontinued and replaced by the #8 Air Pilot in 1957, which continues to use the #272 burner.
